In Ukraine, the secrecy of geological information about strategic minerals has been lifted.

Ukraine has decided to lift the secrecy of geological data about most minerals, including strategically important minerals. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Svitlana Hrynchuk, announced that this procedure has been completed, referring to an outdated practice from the Soviet Union era. This decision will facilitate cooperation with investors and businesses.
At the 'State and Business Forum: From Dialogue to Partnership,' the minister announced the completion of the secrecy lifting procedure. 'The classification has been canceled, and now we are completing all bureaucratic procedures so that we can work fully with investors and businesses without this barrier,' emphasized Hrynchuk.
The process of digitizing geological information with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is also ongoing. According to the minister, the volume of available objective information about deposits is constantly increasing.
Digitization of Geological Data and International Cooperation
Currently, negotiations are underway with the American development corporation DFC regarding the expansion of the geological data digitization project. Some valuable information is still stored in paper form, which is difficult to use. Agreements have also been made regarding the sale of minerals through auctions or agreements on product distribution.
In general, lifting the secrecy of geological data about most minerals will open new opportunities for cooperation with foreign investors and improve the management of the country's natural resources.
After long negotiations and procedures, Ukraine has lifted the secrecy of geological data about most minerals, paving the way for more effective cooperation with investors and the development of this sector in the country. The digitization of geological information and international cooperation in this area continues to actively develop, promising additional opportunities for Ukraine in the extraction of minerals.Read also
