A powerful earthquake measuring 6.3 occurred near the coast of Crete. The tremors were felt even in Egypt, reports Glavkom citing Reuters.

According to reports, the earthquake with the specified magnitude was recorded near the Greek island of Crete.

The German Research Center for Geosciences reported that the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 83 km.

No casualties or serious damage have been recorded, however, tremors were felt in neighboring countries, including Egypt.

According to the National Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics of Egypt, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 was recorded 431 km from the country's northern coast.

Earthquake Near Ukraine

On the evening of May 11, seismologists recorded an earthquake at the border of Ukraine – its epicenter was located in Romania, near the Odesa region.

Seismic activity was recorded at 21:34:57 local Time in the Vrancea zone. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.4, and its epicenter was at a depth of 125 km. The intensity of the tremors was classified as III on the scale.

The epicenter of the disaster was located near several Romanian cities, including Focsani, Buzau, Brasov, and others.

It should be noted that at the end of April, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake also occurred in Turkey, which was particularly felt in Istanbul.

It is noted that the first underground tremors in Istanbul were felt around 14:38 (local time). The Emergency Management Agency announced that the earthquake's epicenter was located off the coast of the Sea of Marmara.
