Thailand may change the rules for tourist stays.

Ukrainian leaders of tourism companies and hotels in Thailand propose to shorten the visa-free stay period for tourists. Instead of 60 days, they suggest reducing it to 30 days. This was reported by Nation Thailand. They express concern about the behavior of some foreigners and its impact on locals.
The association leaders believe that the visa-free regime has brought significant revenue to the country, so no one wants to implement it. However, they consider it necessary to make changes. Considering that the average tourist spends no more than 30 days in Thailand, a 60-day period is too long, as noted by the association president Sisdivachrar Chivaratthanaporn.
According to THA, the average number of days spent in hotels is about 15 days, and tourists who come for longer periods mainly choose cheaper accommodation options. Hotels believe that reducing the visa-free regime will help increase hotel occupancy.
Moreover, Thais are dissatisfied with the fact that some tourists violate the laws of the country and ignore local customs and rules of conduct, thinking that they can do whatever they want, so representatives of the tourism industry suggest creating special visa issuance conditions for long-term stays in Thailand, and ordinary tourists will not be allowed to violate local laws.
Recall that one French tourist accidentally covered almost 1000 kilometers due to a language barrier in Thailand.
