More expensive or nothing: bakers made an unfavorable forecast regarding bread prices in Ukraine.

Ukrainians are outraged by the rising cost of bread and other baked goods. This has happened due to a significant shortage of rye flour and a sharp increase in the price of wheat flour, which has caused a price explosion in the retail sector. Many people are finding it no laughing matter when visiting a bakery.
'If in spring 2024 the cost of 1 ton of wheat flour was 9 thousand UAH, now it has exceeded 15 thousand UAH,' explained the president of the Ukrainian Bakers Association, Oleksandr Taranenko.
Not only has the price of bread increased, but also the prices of the flour itself, which is the basis for the preparation of baked goods. The shortage of rye flour has led to a rapid increase in its cost. This situation may make Ukrainians common victims, who will spend more money on their favorite baked products.
Call to the authorities
The residents of Ukraine must watch as the prices of their favorite baked goods rise dramatically. If this trend is not stopped, citizens should prepare for significant additional expenses. The bakers' association calls on the authorities to take measures to control the stocks of grain and flour to avoid further price increases due to a shortage of raw materials.
