Prices Have Started to Rise Again: What is Happening with the Cost of Pork and Chicken in Supermarkets.


Meat Prices in Grocery Chains
The cost of pork and chicken, which are important components of the diet for many Ukrainians, can vary significantly depending on the grocery chain.
In order to help consumers find the best deals, 'Hvylya' conducted an analysis of prices for pork and chicken in leading chains such as Auchan, Metro, Novus, and Megamarket, comparing them with average monthly figures from April 2025.
At the moment, prices for pork have generally increased compared to last month. For example, the price for pork belly is currently an average of 211.45 UAH per kilogram, which is significantly higher than in April (201.52 UAH).
However, the most affordable belly is sold at Auchan for 199.90 UAH. Prices for pork shoulder have also risen: from 211.81 UAH in April to 226.97 UAH now, with the lowest price recorded at Metro – 217.90 UAH.
In the case of chicken, prices have also significantly increased. For instance, chicken thigh currently costs an average of 124.67 UAH, which is higher than in April (117.12 UAH).
At the same Time, the price of 'Nasha Ryaba' thighs has changed little: 176.27 UAH now compared to 176.56 UAH in April.
However, 'Nasha Ryaba' drumsticks have significantly increased in price from 110.30 UAH to 138.95 UAH, with the lowest price at Metro (133.90 UAH).
Analysis
The analysis showed that prices for meat products in Ukraine continue to rise, which may affect the budgets of Ukrainians and their consumption habits.
Currently, it is especially important to be careful and choose stores with the most advantageous offers to save on meat purchases and ensure high-quality products.
