President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia refuses to agree to an unconditional ceasefire as it wishes to attack Ukrainian cities and ports from the Black Sea region. He said this in his address on April 6.

In this strike, Russia used missiles launched from the Black Sea. Russia does not agree to a ceasefire as it wants to preserve the ability to attack Ukraine's cities and ports from the sea. A ceasefire at sea is crucial for shipping, food supply, as well as for overall security and achieving peace. President Putin does not want to end the war; he needs ways to intensify the military conflict. Therefore, Ukraine must continue to pressure Russia, strengthen its defense capabilities, maintain sanctions, and conduct diplomacy that will prevent them from committing murder,' Zelensky stated.

The president emphasized that Ukraine agreed to the U.S. proposal for an unconditional and complete ceasefire, but Russian President Putin rejected it.

We are awaiting the reaction of the United States, which we have not yet received. We are waiting for the reaction from all of Europe and the entire world, those who strive for peace... Every day is lost lives, lost opportunities for diplomacy. We cannot stand silently regarding this situation,' he noted.

It should be reminded that Zelensky ordered to activate contacts with partners regarding air defense.

It is also known that Russia used more than 1460 guided aerial bombs, nearly 670 attack drones, and more than 30 missiles of various types against Ukraine this week, over 20 of which were launched last night.
