Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy to discuss cooperation and support for Ukraine.
The main topic of conversation was the implementation of the century-long partnership agreement between the countries. Particular attention was paid to financial assistance for the Ukrainian defense sector - the UK will provide £2 billion to enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities.
They also discussed coordinating actions with partners, particularly regarding security guarantees and strengthening sanctions against Russia, including the oil sector and the defense industry. They considered the possibility of using frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
David Lammy confirmed that the UK remains a key partner for Ukraine. Given Putin's unwillingness to negotiate, the UK will continue to support Ukraine and influence other partners for this purpose.
