Preserving Cultural Heritage: Ukraine Updates the System for Training Restorers.


The Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications, Serhiy Belyaev, announced the update of educational programs for training specialists in the field of restoration, conservation, and heritage protection in Ukraine. He noted that revising the program is necessary to address modern challenges.
This statement was made during his participation in the forum 'Strategy for the Development of Culture in Ukraine for 2025-2030'. Belyaev emphasized that the update of programs will include the introduction of new curricula for training specialists with higher education in this field.
'Among the tasks in the field of restoration is the update of educational programs for training restorers according to modern challenges. This involves implementing programs for training specialists in restoration, conservation, and heritage protection in higher education institutions,' Belyaev stated.
Belyaev also highlighted the importance of including management in the training program for restorers. He pointed out that earlier, the main focus was on practical restoration, but now the development of management is also a necessary component.
One of the tasks provided by the updated programs is to create conditions for Ukrainian restorers to intern abroad.
Updating educational programs for specialists in the field of restoration, conservation, and heritage protection is an important and necessary step in the development of this field in Ukraine. Including management in the training program for specialists is a significant step in expanding the competences of restorers. Additionally, involving Ukrainian restorers in internships abroad will promote the exchange of experience and enrich their professional skills. Updating educational programs takes into account contemporary challenges and will prepare true professionals in the field of restoration, conservation, and heritage protection.
