Power outages up to 20 hours: expert warned of a critical situation in some regions.

Some regions of Ukraine often face complete power outages. In recent weeks, not only border areas, but also regions in the center of the country have been without electricity, which worries experts ahead of the heating season.
"At the beginning of November, the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions were completely out. Two weeks before that, Kherson and Mykolaiv went out, and at the end of October, the Sumy and Poltava regions were left without electricity," said energy and housing expert Oleh Popenko on Yuriy Romanenko's broadcast.
According to the expert, the situation is most difficult in the border areas, where network shelling is becoming more intense.
"This trend will continue. As we warned a year ago - border and frontline areas will regularly be left without electricity," Popenko emphasized.
The situation is particularly difficult in Zaporizhzhia, where local authorities warn of possible power outages lasting up to 20 hours a day.
"In Zaporizhzhia, the authorities are giving a direct signal that you will not have electricity. We said last year that as soon as the first strikes hit Zaporizhzhia, it became a harbinger of serious energy supply problems," noted the expert.
The electrification of border regions requires a comprehensive approach, including the evacuation of the population from dangerous areas and the creation of backup power systems, added Popenko. However, these measures are still not fully implemented, which poses additional risks for the civilian population in winter.
It is worth noting that due to the threat of strikes on energy infrastructure, specialists recommend that residents of all regions prepare for possible power supply disruptions in the fall-winter.
