From drones to tactical medicine: what Ukrainian schoolchildren will now study in defense lessons.

The Ministry of Education and Science approved the new educational program "Defense of Ukraine"
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine approved a new model educational program "Defense of Ukraine" for 10-11 grade students. The program received the stamp "Recommended" on August 13, 2024.
The new course is designed to form national consciousness and essential skills in young people. It provides for a unified approach for all students regardless of gender and focuses on current topics - from military technologies to information security.
The program includes practical skills such as shooting training, land navigation and tactical medicine. Special attention is paid to civil defense and future planning.
In the 10th grade, students will study the basics of national security, management and planning, armament, and military equipment. The 11th-grade program covers the development of military technologies, information warfare, and the protection of civilians.
To better absorb the material, a special training day will be held monthly in equipped centers with modern equipment, including drone simulators and shooting trainers. The classes will be conducted by trained teachers.
The program update is implemented with the support of the "Partnership for a Strong Ukraine" Foundation and is part of systematic changes in the content and quality of education.
