A fire broke out in Ivano-Frankivsk after explosions, there are casualties (updated).


In the evening of March 11, a series of explosions occurred near the railway station in Ivano-Frankivsk. This was reported by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Emergency Rescue Service, Svitlana Onyshchuk.

The city mayor, Ruslan Martsinkiv, stated that the causes of the explosion are currently being investigated: 'Nearby the station, due to explosions (preliminarily from explosive substances), people died, and a fire broke out. Relevant services are working at the scene. There was also an explosion in an apartment, as a result of which a fire occurred.'
'Relevant services are working at the scene. There are preliminarily injured. As a result of one of the explosions, the roof of a multi-storey building caught fire, and firefighters are extinguishing the fire. Remain calm. More detailed information will be provided later,' Onyshchuk reported.
Ukrzaliznytsia also reported that the explosions occurred outside the station.
'Only the sound of explosions was heard at the railway station. Passengers and station staff were not harmed. Trains are running on schedule,' the statement said.
Recall that on January 27, Russia attacked Prykarpattia, which caused fires at two locations at an infrastructure facility in the Ivano-Frankivsk district. A fire covering an area of 100 square meters was quickly extinguished by rescuers, but a fire covering an area of 500 square meters is ongoing. There are no casualties.
