Ukrainian refugees in Lithuania will be able to receive a one-time financial aid.


The International Organization for Migration (IOM) office in Vilnius announced that newly arrived refugees from Ukraine would be provided with a one-Time financial assistance of 176 euros. According to IOM, dozens of Ukrainians seeking shelter from the war arrive in Lithuania weekly. This aid is provided to vulnerable refugees to cover essential expenses. Applicants for the payment must register with the Migration Department and meet certain criteria. Among the recipients are single parents with one or more children, families with three or more children, pregnant women, individuals over 60 years old, and persons with disabilities.
Additionally, in Lithuania from September, benefits for foreigners without temporary protection status regarding the ability to obtain employment have been rescinded. According to the decree of the Lithuanian Minister of the Interior, as of September 1, these benefits no longer apply to Ukrainians in Lithuania who cannot return to Ukraine.
