The first Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, explained how U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs will affect the dollar exchange rate and food prices. She stated that a 10% tariff for Ukraine is insignificant and will not impact the exchange rate or prices. There are no large volumes of Ukrainian exports to the U.S., so the tariffs will not change trade volumes, exchange rates, or consumer market prices in the country. According to Svyrydenko, the introduction of tariffs may have a reverse effect in the short term, as it will force producers to seek new markets. However, the insignificant impact on exchange rates or prices will generally be negligible. Ukraine's macro-financial stability will not be significantly undermined by the events with U.S. tariffs due to the support of partners and international institutions.
