Neighbors Listen to Russian Music - Can They Be Punished for It.


Some Ukrainians do not stop listening to Russian music even during wartime. But can they be punished for this?
According to legislation, there is nothing wrong with listening to Russian performers. However, the use of their songs in public places is restricted. The aim of the law is to promote Ukrainian musicians. Penalties for violating this rule can reach 170 UAH.
How to Influence Neighbors
The law prohibits noise in residential buildings after 10:00 PM. If a neighbor exceeds the allowed noise level, you can contact the police. For this violation, fines of 85 to 255 UAH for citizens and 255 to 510 UAH for officials are foreseen.
What Else Ukrainians Should Know
For using obscene language in public places, fines may range from 51 to 119 UAH. It is also allowed to cut branches of a neighbor's tree on your own land. To avoid conflicts, it's better to agree in advance with the owner.
