Recalculation of subsidies and payments in May

With the beginning of the non-heating season on May 1, there will be changes in the calculation of subsidies in Ukraine. Most Ukrainians will automatically receive a recalculation, but some citizens, especially those whose family composition has changed or who have changed their housing, will need to submit a new application to the Pension Fund.

Pensioners over the age of 70 will receive good news in May. Those who are 70, 75, or 80 years old will receive additional payments to their pension if these pension payments do not exceed 10,340.35 hryvnias. The amount of additional benefits will depend on age: those aged 70 to 75 will receive up to 300 hryvnias; from 75 to 80 years - up to 456 hryvnias; pensions over 80 years old - up to 570 hryvnias.

'Subsidies for the non-heating season will be recalculated automatically, but if your household composition has changed or you rent accommodation, you need to contact the Pension Fund within 30 days,' the agency explains.

In addition, pensioners from nine regions of Ukraine will receive additional support through the United Nations World Food Programme. Residents of Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions will receive an allowance that compensates for the difference between their current pension and 3,250 hryvnias.

It is important to note that recipients of this allowance must not receive other assistance from international organizations.

To avoid incorrect calculations or loss of support, it is necessary to submit the required documents for the recalculation of subsidies. Documents can be submitted in person, via the Diia portal, or through representatives of local governments.

The amount of the subsidy is determined individually based on income, the number of registered persons, and other factors.

Earlier, the Pension Fund of Ukraine explained whether displaced persons can change banks to receive pensions.
