Scandal at the Open Ukrainian Bodybuilding Cup WABBA 2025

On May 18, the Open Ukrainian Bodybuilding Cup WABBA 2025 took place in Lviv, ending in scandal. This was reported by 'Glaсkom' referencing Tribuna.

During one of the performances, an athlete from Dnipro took to the stage accompanied by Russian music. The video was published on social media by one of the event's guests. In it, some other guests can be heard supporting the athlete.

The organizers promptly reacted to the situation. In an official statement on their page, they apologized to the audience and participants and acknowledged the incident as unacceptable.

Changes to the competition regulations

• introduction of a preliminary check of the musical accompaniment for all participants;
• briefing for judges and technical teams on adherence to language standards and ethical norms.

Russian skater Ksenia Korzhova, recognized as a neutral athlete by the International Skating Union (ISU), liked posts supporting the war. Nahrniy has been sanctioned for supporting Russian aggression.

Currently, Russian athletes who express support for the conflict cannot participate in the Olympics, and their places are taken by other participants.
