A Russian Man Imprisoned for a 10-Year-Old Post.

A citizen of the Russian Federation was sentenced for 'prohibited symbols' on his social media page. Law enforcement agencies found a picture from 2015 on the page, which the man stopped managing back in 2021, and that is enough for a conviction in today's Putin's Russia.
This was reported by Russian media.
Russian Law Enforcement Monitors Social Media
Russian law enforcement agencies continue to 'tighten the screws' against their own population.
To achieve this, they actively review the social media pages of Russians, looking for reasons to detain, arrest, impose fines, or even imprison individuals.
A 42-year-old Russian named Konstantin fell into the hands of the Main Directorate for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation using a similar scheme.
What Happened Ten Years Ago
On Konstantin's page in the Russian social network 'VKontakte,' these law enforcement officers found a picture with the symbol of a prohibited movement in Russia, AUE ('Prisoner’s Code United').
This picture was posted in 2015. At the same Time, Konstantin stopped managing this page back in 2021 and lost access to edit it, which, however, did not prevent the law enforcement officers from detaining him.
The court decided on five days of arrest for this 'disseminator of extremist symbols.'
In Russia, a citizen was convicted for posting prohibited symbols on his social media page. Law enforcement agencies continue to actively monitor social media for violations of the law, which may lead to detentions and other legal consequences for citizens.
