Trump's rating has fallen to the lowest level
According to a poll conducted by the IPSOS institute, Donald Trump's approval rating in the US has dropped to the lowest level since the start of his second presidency. Approximately 42% of respondents approve of his work as president, which is 1% lower than in the previous poll. It should be noted that Trump's approval rating at the beginning of his presidency was 47%.
Throughout his term, Trump has issued many executive orders that expanded his influence over government departments and private institutions, including even universities and law firms. It is worth noting that despite this, his approval rating is still higher than that of his Democratic predecessor.
The poll also showed that many Americans do not like that Trump is trying to interfere in the affairs of universities, which he considers too liberal, and to become the chairman of the Kennedy Center board.
Key poll results
- 83% of respondents believe that the US president should comply with federal court decisions, regardless of their preferences
- 57% do not agree with the cessation of funding for universities if the president is not enriched by the leadership of these institutions
- 66% do not support the idea that the president should control major cultural institutions
- 59% of respondents believe that America is losing trust on the world stage
- 75% of respondents (including 53% of Republicans) believe that Trump should not run for a third term
Regarding issues of inflation, immigration, taxation, and the rule of law, the number of Americans who disapprove of Trump's work surpasses the number who support him. For example, 46% are dissatisfied with his immigration work, while 45% support him. The margin of error for the poll is about 2%.
Trump's approval rating has fallen to the lowest level, but he still has more support than most of his predecessors. It is also important to note that the poll indicates the dissatisfaction of many Americans with his interference in university affairs and attempts to become the chairman of the Kennedy Center board. This data may be important for further analysis of the situation surrounding Trump and the level of his approval among the American population.
