Raids on High-Ranking Officials of the National Guard

According to the publication ZN.UA, on May 9 and 10, searches were conducted at high-ranking officials of the National Guard of Ukraine. This information has been confirmed by sources in the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. NABU detectives are conducting investigative actions as part of a criminal proceeding under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

• embezzlement, misappropriation of property, or obtaining it through abuse of office;
• legalization (money laundering) of proceeds obtained by criminal means;
• acceptance of offers, promises, or receipt of unlawful benefits by a public official.

Searches took place at the residences and in the offices of the National Guard. Two separate proceedings are investigating possible facts of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds amounting to hundreds of millions of hryvnias. Currently, there have been no official comments from NABU and the National Guard of Ukraine.
