The funeral of Pope Francis will take place in the Vatican

The funeral of Pope Francis will take place in the Vatican on April 26. Many foreign delegations are expected to arrive, including 50 presidents and 10 monarchs. Among the participants in the ceremony will also be Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Javier Milei, William, Felipe VI, Emmanuel Macron, and other world leaders.

In the location of the funeral, enhanced security measures have been implemented. A no-fly zone has been established over Rome, and sniper units have been positioned on the rooftops of buildings. The Swiss Guard stated that the coming days will be challenging, and they are in a state of heightened combat readiness.

As a reminder, Pope Francis died at the age of 88. He suffered from chronic illnesses and died from the effects of a stroke. He will be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, as stated in Pope Francis' will, where his predecessors are also buried. The body of Francis is currently available for farewell at St. Peter's Cathedral.

After the funeral, cardinals will hold a conclave in the Sistine Chapel to elect a new Pope. The mourning for the Pope will last nine days, during which prayer services will be held.

The funeral of Pope Francis will take place on April 26 at 10:00 AM, and the holy Mass will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the Dean of the College of Cardinals.
