Recently, on one of the Hawaiian islands of Maui, a pond in one of the reserves turned pink, and in some places crimson.

This happened at the end of October, and scientists immediately began to study this phenomenon. It turned out that the cause of the color change in the water is bacteria. They are single-celled organisms that love salty water.
It is the increase in the salinity of the water in the pond that became the main problem. This happened due to deteriorating weather conditions.
However, tourists have already appreciated the new tourist spot.
