Lithuanian Interior Ministry investigates how Abramovich's children obtained citizenship.

The Minister of Interior of Lithuania, Agnė Bilotaitė, has established a commission to investigate the acquisition of Lithuanian citizenship by the children of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. According to Lithuanian broadcaster LRT, 30-year-old Arkady and 31-year-old Anna, Abramovich's children, have become citizens of Lithuania.
This information became known due to a leak of documents from the company "MeritServus", which is based in Cyprus and has managed Abramovich's assets for many years.
The Lithuanian Migration Department declined to comment on the situation, as it pertains to private individuals. However, the department will check the list of individuals and organizations subject to European Union sanctions and ensure whether members of such persons' families are citizens of Lithuania.
Agnė Bilotaitė stated that the granting of citizenship should not be a secret, and the Lithuanian passport cannot be used to circumvent sanctions or for abuses. She also emphasized that the protection of personal data should not give way to national security in complex geopolitical conditions.
Earlier, journalists revealed a secret deal between Abramovich and Putin's chief financiers, as well as reported on his largest collection of contemporary art, which he keeps hidden.
