Yuriy Yahodka, the mayor of Ostroh, apologized for the incident that happened on August 29. On that day, when the Day of Defenders' Memory was being commemorated, he was intoxicated and beat a woman. This incident was triggered by the playing of Russian music at the Cultural and Leisure Center located near the local library. The woman turned to the police and filed a complaint about the physical injuries inflicted on her by the mayor.
Almost a month after this incident, Yuriy Yahodka admitted his guilt and apologized to those who supported him in the elections, as well as to those who did not vote for him. Currently, Yuriy Yahodka is commenting on this situation, admitting his guilt.
Law enforcement agencies have launched a pre-trial investigation into this incident, but according to the law, it is necessary to wait for the elections to re-elect the mayor.
Yuriy Yahodka has been the mayor of Ostroh since 2020. He began his career in the banking sector and later served as the head of the Ostroh District State Administration and the head of the Roztavi Rural Council.
