Medical services in Ukraine will become paid starting January 1: in which cases one will have to splurge.

Starting from 2025, a new procedure for providing medical services will be implemented in Ukraine, which will involve significant changes in the way they are paid for.
This was reported by former Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine (2014-2015) and lawyer Natalia Lisnevska during a speech on the Kyiv 24 TV channel.
According to the new rules, receiving medical services without a doctor's referral will only be possible for a fee. This decision is justified by the necessity to optimize medical visits and ensure a professional assessment of patients' needs by qualified doctors.
According to Lisnevska, the new resolution clearly regulates the conditions and circumstances for providing paid services. Patients who are not under the supervision of a family or specialized doctor and do not have the appropriate referral will have the opportunity to receive medical services at their own expense.
It is important to note that all procedures provided for in the state medical service guarantees program will remain free of charge. Only those services that exceed the established state guarantees will require additional payment.
We remind you that in Ukraine, mandatory psychiatric examinations will be introduced and at least 200 mental health centers will be created.
