Macron urged China to restrain North Korea from participating in the conflict in Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron urged the Chinese government to stop North Korea's interference in the war in Ukraine, Politico reports. He warned Beijing about the possible increase of NATO presence in Asia if China does not prevent North Korea's involvement in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Macron stated that this is a serious issue for all, as the presence of North Korea in Ukraine is of great significance. France has always opposed NATO's influence expansion in Asia, and thus leads the campaign against opening an alliance office in Japan.
'The presence of North Korea in Ukraine is a serious issue for all of us. If China does not want to see NATO in Southeast Asia, it should prevent the involvement of (North Korea, editor's note) on European soil,' emphasized Macron.
The President of France urged China to restrain North Korea from participating in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, prepare a response to the possible increased NATO presence in Asia, and curtail further interference in regional conflicts.
During the meeting between Macron and the Chinese government, concerns were expressed regarding North Korea's involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.
