The commander of the marines spoke about the most difficult order he had to give in his life.

The commander of the 37th separate marine brigade, Serhiy Shatalov, during an interview with 'Hromadske', spoke about the most difficult order he had to give during the operation on the left bank of Kherson region.
«I always gave orders thoughtfully, so I do not remember them with bitterness. But I would change your question and ask about the order I was most worried about not being executed. This was when I sent a boat to Krynyky,» - said Serhiy Shatalov.
According to the commander, when the weather was bad - fog, rain - in 80% of cases everything ended successfully. But in critical situations, when it was necessary to evacuate immediately, the hardest part was to deal with the personnel on the boat.
One of Serhiy Shatalov's fighters spent 93 days in Krynyky, as he could not be evacuated.
«I remember this very well. We brought new personnel there and needed a person who could adapt them to the conditions. This serviceman became such a person at that point,» - the commander recalled.
The fighter was wounded, but eventually he was able to be evacuated.
It should be reminded that in July 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine left the village of Krynyky on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region.
In particular, the General Staff explained that they left the foothold to protect the soldiers who had nowhere to hide, as the Russian Federation destroyed all buildings and places where they could hide from shelling. Staying there would mean death for the soldiers. Currently, Ukrainian forces are holding the defense on the islands in the Dnipro.
