When will a four-day workweek appear in Ukraine? The Employment Service made a statement.

Ukrainian legislation does not provide for the possibility of establishing a four-day workweek. However, according to the State Employment Service, such a schedule is possible provided there are local agreements between the parties.
The press service noted that during the period of war in Ukraine, the transition to a four-day workweek would not be purposeful.
In such a situation, holidays are considered ordinary working days, work on weekends can be done without the mandatory consent of the trade union, and the maximum number of hours in a workweek can amount to 60 instead of the usual 40 hours.
Although many countries have already introduced a shortened workweek for some sectors, this approach has not yet been fully applied in Ukraine. The standard workweek in the country is 40 hours, but there may be exceptions for certain categories of workers. In particular, under martial law, the length of the workweek may increase to 60 hours.

In a transitional period, especially under martial law, an increase in working hours may become necessary to ensure the normal functioning of the country's economy.
