Israel cancels accreditation of Norwegian representatives to the Palestinian administration — Media.

Israel has revoked the accreditation of eight Norwegian diplomats who were working as representatives to the Palestinian administration, which elicited a sharp reaction from Norway's Foreign Minister.

Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that the decision to revoke the diplomats' status was made in response to what he called "Norway's anti-Israeli behavior", including its recognition of the Palestinian state, writes Reuters.

"Norway pursues a unilateral policy regarding the Palestinian issue, and therefore will be excluded from it," the statement from Katz said.

Norway places the responsibility for the diplomatic row on the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is currently considering its response to the situation, Norway's Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide reported.

"This is a radical step that primarily affects our ability to help the Palestinian population ... Today's decision will have consequences for our relations with the Netanyahu government," Eide said.

The Palestinian administration also condemned this decision, calling it a "violation and disregard of international laws".
