Due to the need to increase the presence of the Estonian Defense Forces in the city of Narva, a military base is planned to be established, which will accommodate over 200 Estonian soldiers and allies. This was announced by the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Veiko Karus.According to Karus, the placement of permanent military units in Narva will show local residents that the city is an integral part of Estonia. In addition, it is a demonstration of the presence of the Estonian state and the development of its defense sector.It is planned to create a base where units will be stationed on a rotational basis. In addition to active military personnel, conscripts and reservists will also be placed there. The expected number of personnel at the base will be approximately 200-250 people.
