Energy Security: Ukraine to Receive More Gas from Poland.

Agreement on Increasing Gas Supply Between Ukraine and Poland
Ukraine and Poland agreed to temporarily increase gas supplies from August 1, 2025, to September 2026. The guaranteed capacity for gas imports from Poland to Ukraine has nearly doubled to 12.4 million cubic meters per day. This is a step towards enhancing the security of gas supply for Ukraine and accessing new resource sources through LNG terminals in Poland and Lithuania.
In preparation for the heating season and in order to ensure a reliable gas supply for Ukraine, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy appealed to their Polish counterparts to support the development of guaranteed capacity for gas supply. 'The Polish gas import route is gradually becoming stronger and is becoming key for supplying gas to Ukraine. This also includes new sources of resources, particularly through LNG terminals in Poland and Lithuania, which expands supply options and enhances the energy security of the country,' said Mykola Kolisnyk, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
The agreement on increasing gas supply was signed by the gas transport system operators of Poland (Gaz-System) and Ukraine (OGTSU). Thus, the volume of gas supplies from Poland has been expanded until September 2026.
The agreement on increasing gas supply between Ukraine and Poland will improve the reliability of gas supply for Ukrainian consumers and provide the opportunity to utilize new resource sources through LNG terminals in Poland and Lithuania. This step is also crucial for ensuring the energy security of the country in the future.
