The Georgia State Assembly subcommittee and its lawyer expressed during a hearing on Wednesday that one possible option is to arrest Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for not complying with subpoenas, although they did not state that they would take such action at this Time.
Subtitle
The Georgia Senate Special Committee on Investigations has tasked its lawyer Josh Belinfante with raising questions about the status of court cases and cooperation with Willis’s attorneys regarding subpoenas for documents related to the investigation of Donald Trump concerning his actions that may have influenced the elections, as well as about a second subpoena related to her testimony.

As of September 3, 2024, Willis is contesting subpoenas, however, the court has deemed them valid.
FANI WILLIS IS REQUIRED TO PAY $54,000 FOR ILLEGAL ACTIONS REGARDING THE OPEN DATA OF THE TRUMP CASE
Committee Chairman Senator Bill Cowsert instructed Belinfante to reach out again to Wade's representatives and 'suggest next Thursday or Friday at the beginning of the last week of April or the first two weeks of May.'
'If they agree to the date, then we will withdraw the subpoenas and I believe they will keep their word. If not, we will have a completely different problem,' he said. 'The same goes for the documents, we are just saying that we have reached the end of the line. We need them by April 15. You already agreed to provide them, and if they refuse, we will have to get back to you again.'
Subtitle
Senator Steve Gooch asked what usually happens if a district attorney like Willis issues a subpoena for someone to appear in court, and that person does not appear.
'That person can be held in contempt of court,' said Belinfante.
'Delay?' Gooch asked. To this, the lawyer replied: 'Maybe.'

Committee members, including Senator Greg Dolezal, emphasized that the committee has already received false reports since Willis contested their subpoenas and the court upheld them, then she contested them again.
'The Attorney General has contemptuously disregarded this committee, she disrespects Georgia’s open records law, and I just believe that the residents of Georgia do not want this committee to wait until she decides when she wants to appear depending on her travel schedule with Mr. Wade and her other travel plans,' he stated.
GEORGIA COURT OF APPEALS DENIES WILLIS AND TEAM IN TRUMP INTERFERENCE ELECTION CASE
The hearings occur after Daily Mail obtained photographs of Willis and former special prosecutor in the Trump case Nathan Wade traveling together at Los Angeles airport.
'What is our legal obligation to comply with her personal travel schedule?' Dolezal said.
'There is none,' Belinfante said.
Dolezal noted that in a separate case regarding open records, courts called her office 'directly hostile,' 'substantively unfounded and burdensome.' 'I believe we have someone here who thinks she is above the law, and I do not think that the residents of Georgia want this committee to wait until she decides when she wants to appear depending on her travel schedule with Mr. Wade and her other travel plans,' he stated.

Belinfante said that in December, when the same judges dismissed the case and it was transferred to another district, the committee assured Willis that they would not call her sergeant by the arms or consider the question of contempt of court. But several months have passed.
Belinfante said that Willis's lawyer informed him this month about her 'travel schedule,' meaning that she would not be ready to testify until late April or May. The lawyer stated that some of the documents the committee is seeking, Willis has already provided to the U.S. House of Representatives and the appeals court, and her lawyer has no other legal recourse to appeal the subpoenas.
'The feeding deadline has passed, and now there is no appealable ruling because we have reached an agreement with them. There is nothing to appeal in the previous documentation. This is absurd because we believe they have already waived the argument, and therefore this time has passed and this requires a decision from both trial courts, whether to allow the appeal to be filed, but that time has passed. There is currently no final ruling,' Belinfante said.
