To clear land in Ukraine, almost 1 trillion UAH is needed - MP.

Member of Parliament Nina Yuzhanina reported that nearly 1 trillion UAH will be needed to clear land in Ukraine that is contaminated with explosive objects.
According to the Ministry of Economy, since the beginning of 2025, there have been 30 auctions for the clearance of agricultural lands totaling 5.37 thousand hectares. 'The final cost of work after the auctions is 336.6 million UAH, which translates into a cost of clearing 1 hectare of agricultural land at 62 thousand UAH,' Yuzhanina noted.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of the year, the area of potentially mined lands in the country was 140 thousand square kilometers, but the threat is not diminishing. The government has allocated only 2 billion UAH for clearance in the State Budget-2025. 'With such levels of funding, it is easy to calculate how many years the money will last for clearance,' the MP added.
According to Nina Yuzhanina, the cost of clearing land in Ukraine could reach almost 1 trillion UAH. Considering the levels of funding by the government, the reserves of mined lands, and the volumes of work, the situation with clearance remains tense, and effective solutions must be sought to address the problem.
The conflict in Eastern Ukraine has led to serious consequences in the form of land contaminated with explosive objects. It is necessary to seek quick and effective solutions for clearance and restoration of these territories, as today the government has allocated significantly less funds than necessary.Read also
