Where is it more profitable to buy buckwheat and sugar: price comparison in popular supermarkets.
Prices for buckwheat and sugar in Ukrainian stores
According to the analytical portal 'Minfin', as of May 19, 2025, prices for buckwheat and sugar in leading retail chains had slight fluctuations compared to the figures from April.
The average price for buckwheat per kilogram has slightly decreased to 34.10 UAH, which is lower than in April. The best offer for buckwheat is from Auchan, where the price is 29.90 UAH, although it is slightly more expensive than in the previous month. Megamarket offers buckwheat at 43.20 UAH per kilogram, while Metro and Novus sell it for 31.30 UAH and 31.99 UAH respectively.
Novus pleased consumers by lowering the price of sugar from 33.80 UAH in April to 32.99 UAH as of mid-May.
The price for crystalline sugar has also seen a slight increase, reaching 33.55 UAH per kilogram. Megamarket has the highest price for sugar at 35.40 UAH, while Auchan and Metro sell it for 32.90 UAH, which corresponds to April's prices.
Overall, prices for buckwheat and sugar remain stable, staying affordable for consumers.
