Prices for peaches and apricots in Ukraine will soar: farmers named the reason.

Ukrainian farmers find themselves in a difficult situation due to the negative influence of spring frosts and drought on stone fruit yields. Some farms have completely lost their peach and apricot crops. Here is what Denis Marchuk from the Ukrainian Agrarian Council says about this:
'Due to relative drought and frosts, there are certain losses. In some farms, losses reached 100%, especially when it comes to apricots and peaches,' Marchuk explained.
Cherries and sweet cherries have also suffered, with losses ranging from 30% to 50% in various farms. Pears and apples have also faced harmful influences.
Price increases due to weather conditions
The market situation is also unfavorable due to weather influences. Experts predict that fruit prices may rise by at least 30%. 'On average, prices for this type of product could increase by more than 30% compared to the previous year,' said a representative of the Agrarian Council.
Hopes for lower prices through imports have not materialized due to frosts, which damaged not only Ukraine but also other countries in Eastern Europe. Potential fruit suppliers have also incurred serious losses due to this.
Weather conditions have severely affected the yields of stone fruits in Ukraine, causing significant losses for farmers. Experts predict a 30% increase in fruit prices due to the worsening market situation. Even importers will not be able to compensate for the losses, as the frosts damaged the harvest of both Ukrainian and foreign farmers.Read also
