Budris voiced alarming NATO conclusions about Putin's intentions.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budris stated that Russia poses a military threat to NATO in the long term. At a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiga, he mentioned that the intelligence community of NATO countries agreed with this conclusion. According to Budris, Russia has plans and capabilities that indicate its readiness for a long-term confrontation with NATO. He also emphasized that Russia's invasion of Ukraine demonstrated how the Kremlin uses military force to achieve political goals.
Budris noted that Putin has made several statements that indicate his desire to influence Europe. He seeks to push Americans out of Europe, to make it subordinate and dependent on himself. Additionally, he does not want Ukraine to be an independent and powerful country with a developed economy and social standards. A secret Pentagon document also confirms the shift in U.S. priorities.
