March Pension Indexation: Who Will Get an 11.5% Increase and Who Will Remain Without a Recalculation.

Pensions will increase by 11.5% starting March 1, 2025
Starting from March 1, 2025, pensions in Ukraine will increase by 11.5%. Depending on the category of pensioners, the amount of increase will vary, ranging from 100 to 1500 hryvnias.
This increase is related to the pension indexing, which is conducted using a new calculation formula, in which an increase in the average wage indicator by 11.5% is foreseen.
Indexation applies not only to ordinary pensioners but also to pensions for individuals who served in law enforcement agencies, liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster, former civil servants, and officials of local government bodies. Pensions for individuals with special merits before Ukraine, as well as insurance payments to those who suffered due to industrial accidents, are also subject to indexation.
The recalculation of pensions is conducted automatically, and all pensioners subject to indexation will receive a new amount of pension payments. This indexation applies to both working and non-working pensioners.
From April 1, 2025, an additional recalculation of pensions will be provided for working pensioners, taking into account their insurance experience over the last two years.
This pension indexation is an important step in improving the social protection of citizens. After its implementation, the average pension amount in Ukraine will increase from 5789 to 6345 hryvnias. A pension reform has also been announced, which will provide for the introduction of base and individual components of pensions.
The minimum pension amount remains unchanged at 2361 hryvnias, while the maximum amount is 23610 hryvnias. Age allowances to pensions will also be paid according to the age of the pensioner.
