Parents of Russian conscripts sound the alarm: details from British intelligence.

Russia forces conscripts to sign contracts in the army to continue replenishing its troops for the war against Ukraine. Meanwhile, the parents of some soldiers have expressed concern. This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense intelligence.
On October 1, the autumn conscription starts in Russia. Russian men up to 30 years old are required to serve one year in the army.
Moscow claims that it does not send conscripts to the war in Ukraine. However, in August 2024, conscripts were involved in a military operation in the Kursk region.
The parents of some soldiers expressed concern that their sons were sent to fight after serving less than four months. According to Russian law, conscripts can be sent to combat zones if they have served for four months and received training in their specialty.
According to the British intelligence officers, such a reaction from conscripts' families to their sending to defend Russia heightens Kremlin's concerns.
«However, Russia is likely to continue forcing conscripts to sign contracts after their service ends to ensure a steady supply of personnel for the war amid high attrition», – concluded the intelligence.
Recall that in 2024, the autumn conscription to the Russian army will traditionally last from October 1 to December 31, but the rules for receiving summons will change somewhat: according to the Russian government decree, a special electronic register will be implemented.
