Airstrike on Mariupol Drama Theater: Third Anniversary.

On Saturday, Ukraine honors the victims of the Mariupol theater
Today, March 16, 2025, Ukraine honors the victims of one of the most terrible tragedies of the war – the bombing of the Mariupol drama theater. Three years ago, the building served as a shelter for hundreds of civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. This was reported by 'Glavcom' referring to the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
In front of and behind the building were large inscriptions 'CHILDREN', which were clearly visible even from space, but the terrorists were not deterred. The theater building served as a shelter for civilians. Among the locals who were hiding in the theater's basement were those who lost their homes during the intense shelling of Mariupol by the Russians. Moreover, there was a point near the shelter theater where people waited for a 'green corridor'. Again and again, the enemy disrupted it: opening fire on the gathering place of civilians,» noted the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
More than 600 people died as a result of the bombing
According to the Donetsk prosecutor's office, at least 600 people died as a result of the airstrike on March 16, 2022. Nearly 400 people were injured. However, it is impossible to establish the exact number of victims and injured, as the city is under occupation, and after the capture of Mariupol, the occupiers transported and buried the bodies of the dead in a mass grave.
Defender of 'Azov' recalled the exit from Azovstal
Recall that the former chief of staff of the 12th special purpose brigade 'Azov', Lieutenant Colonel Bohdan Krotyevych, with the call sign Tavr, told how they left 'Azovstal'. Krotyevych recalled that the Azov fighters even received a message from the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Russians are stealing homes in the occupied territories: 'abandoned' apartments and houses are occupied by collaborators, military, and displaced persons from the Russian Federation.
Thousands of people are forced to fight for their own homes
At the beginning of the invasion, Natalia Semchenko (name changed) left her home in Mariupol with her family. The family was forced to move to Kyiv. However, in 2024, the woman had to return to the occupied city. The road turned out to be difficult: just in one of the Moscow airports, Natalia underwent several hours of 'filtering procedures'. Russian special services investigated the purpose of her visit to Mariupol and whether she was a spy for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After passing the check, the woman reached the occupied city. Her long and arduous journey had one goal – to confirm ownership of her home. This path is now being followed by thousands of people who have fled from the Russians since 2014.
