NASA Astronaut Shares Image of Planet Taken at an Altitude of 400 Kilometers.

NASA astronaut Don Pettit took a picture of Earth from an altitude of 400 kilometers while on the International Space Station. The image was taken over the territory of Mexico and the USA. The photo shows city lights beneath the ISS and auroras on the horizon, which occur as a result of energetic particles from the Sun interacting with the upper layers of Earth's atmosphere.
Astronaut Don Pettit is known for his photography, which he takes in his free Time from work on the ISS. He is on his fourth journey to space, during which he has spent over 370 days in space and had more than 13 hours of spacewalks.
Over the next six months, Don will be working as a flight engineer and conducting scientific experiments on the ISS.
The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope captured an image of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 1672, located 49 million light-years away from Earth.
Chinese scientists analyzed the composition of the soil brought back from the far side of the Moon. The lunar soil samples delivered by the Chang'e 6 mission are represented by basalt, breccia, cementite, light-colored rocks, and glassy material. Basalt fragments make up 30 to 40% of the total samples.
Ukrainian scientists have proposed an interesting option for space travel.
